VISIT US

MAY HAKONGAK CENTRE

The May Hakongak Community Library and Cultural Centre was opened in May 2002 in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. Honouring the legacy of local cultural advocate May Hakongak, the centre is a model of integrated learning that supports a public library, cultural program space, museum and exhibitis, art gallery and regional archives.

This facility is open to everyone and provides Cambridge Bay residents with a large space to gather, meet, and celebrate our culture and heritage.

KUUGALAAQ CULTURAL CAMPUS

The Kuugalaaq Cultural Campus opened in Fall 2024 as a space for ongoing Inuinnaqtun immersion. While this facility is occupied daily as a space for programming, workshops, and mentorship, it is not open to the public for drop-in. Our goal is to foster a quiet, calm, Inuinnaqtun-centred space for healing and revitalization.

PI/KHS programs and workshops are always free of charge, and open to all members of our community. Calls for participation are put out regularly and applicants are selected for programs based on available space.
